Pickles are cucumbers soaked in evil

The assignment:  To decorate a box so the outside represents the way others see me, while the inside represents the way I see myself.  Then, to put three objects of significance into the box.  Concluding in a presentation explaining the box and its contents.  As an actual thing.  Not just because I'm a crazy box-maker, though that's probably true as well.  Anyway, I spent three and a half hours on this, and I'm going to post pictures whether you want to see them or not!

THE BOX:

How I think others see me: quirky, self-conscious, introvert, surprisingly dark, aloof

How others see me: obsessive

How others see me:  sensitive, quiet, easily amused

Inside the box:  How I see myself

Quotes from League of Gentlemen, Sherlock, and the musical group Belle and Sebastian

How I see myself:  Quotes from Cabin Pressure, The Handmaid's Tale, and The Great Gatsby

How I see myself: A poem by Emily Dickinson, quote from Slaughterhouse Five, and a drawing of a walrus wearing a top hat.

How I see myself: Quote from Everything is Illuminated

How I see myself: Quote from Sherlock, gorgeous poem by Walt Whitman

Which I think is all pretty self-explanatory, yes?

Now I have "Dick in a Box" stuck in my head.  Inappropriate, Amanda.  Inappropriate.

In other news, I unfortunately had to remove my cartilage piercing because the stupid doctor made me once they found out I have a staph infection.  WHICH, angry person who commented on my last post, was no fault of the piercing location or the area of the piercing itself.  Typecast Tattoos was excellent, everything was done very quickly and professionally and the tools they used were all individually wrapped and sterile, like tools at the dentist.  The issue is that I used the rusty fingernail clippers of death (pictured below) and, as I was in class, could not immediately wash my hands afterwards.  I really should throw those things out sometime.

See what I mean?

Oh, and about the staph thing, no worries, I'm on heavy antibiotics and the swelling has already gone down a lot.  Because, anonymous commenter on the last post, as a university student I don't even have to go through my insurance for this type of thing, I can go to the clinic for free.  SO THERE.  As indecisive as I am, you had better believe that I put in a ton of research before doing something like that.  I don't regret having it done, I just regret using nail clippers of death.  I'm going to try to get it re-pierced after all this clears up, and I'll be more careful next time.  I very much liked having it while it was there.

Anywho, I'm not in a show right now, will not be for a long time, and so am going to dye part of my hair blue.  I already found vegan dye and everything, but I'm trying to mentally plan out how I'm going to do that in the dorm bathroom.  It may take some careful maneuvering.  Or I may wait until I get home.  WE SHALL SEE.

Also!  Time zone differences are messing with my head.  Just thought I should put that out there.
