Deep in the Heart of Darkness...

In my AP Literature class, we had to write a scene wherein we (acting as another character) have dinner with Kurtz from Heart of Darkness.  This is what I (with much input from my group) came up with.  We all said that we would post it on our respective blogs, so here it is.  If it's a little choppy, that's just because I don't care enough to write things properly.  Can you tell that I only read the first twenty pages of the book, and the last two?

Kurtz returns home to his Intended.
"Hello," he says.  "What are we having for dinner?"
"Why, brussel sprouts and cabbage, of course.  This is Tuesday."
"Ah yes.  I probably just forgot because I am dying."

The Other Woman comes through the door.
"I found you!" She exclaims.  "I have been asking everywhere."
"Who is this?" Asks the Intended.
"Oh dear.  I think I am dying," Responds Kurtz.  He falls to the ground and dies.
Ignoring the body on the ground, the Intended and the Other Woman face off.
"Who are you?" The Intended asks again.
"I am his love."
"I am afraid you are mistaken, for you see, I am his intended."
Knowing of Kurtz's deceit, the two women kill each other with fireplace pokers.

The police are called in.  They take the three bodies to the morgue.
"Oh dear," says the forensic pathologist.  "It seems that they were members of a suicide cult.  How very, very sad," and with that he sends the bodies on their ways.

Little does he know that the three will soon come to life as zombies.  Kurtz emerges from his grave first, followed by his Intended and the Other Woman.
"My love!" he exclaims upon seeing his intended.  "I love you and only you, forever and ever, passionately and warmly!"
The Other Woman crawls out of the ground.
"Kurtz, this woman says that you are engaged to be married.  Is this true?"
"No baby, of course not.  You know that I love you and only you."
The Intended hears this.  She is not amused.
"Can't we all just love each other?" Pleads Kurtz.
The others see the wisdom in this.  They all live together, and decide to kill Marlow in the style of Silence of the Lambs.

THE END.
