Moriar Tea: It's what people BREW!

I haven't posted in a while because I've been enjoying summer too much.  By which I mean that I have been sitting on my bed reading things on the internet.  I haven't left my house in a week (except for the hour I spent getting my hair cut), leave my room once a day, and usually go to bed around 5:00 A.M.  It's interesting to go to sleep when you would normally be waking up for school.  So, what have I been doing instead of interacting with the outside world?  Reading fanfiction.  Just like every summer.  Duh.

Because I've watched each episode of South Park at least seven times, I decided to move on to something new.  Looking through the titles netflix recommended to me, I noticed that one had five stars.  'Oh,' said I, 'Perhaps I will try that.'  And that is how I came to watch Sherlock.  Which is probably one of my new favorite things.  Not to mention the enormity of the fandom!  I've been an RLSB shipper since fifth grade, so I know basically everything about the HP slash-verse at this point, if I may say so.  But this opens an entirely new plethora of recs to read.  Which is good, I guess, because I've already read almost every puppyfic out there, and have over 4,000 bookmarks in my fics folder to prove it (by the by, if anyone ever wanted a fic rec, I would be more than happy to oblige).  But the enormity of the Sherlock fandom is a bit overwhelming.  I've been trying to steadily make my way through it, but I can tell that this is going to take me months.

My main issue with fanfiction is the abhorrent grammar that often accompanies it.  My internal editor is constantly pointing out any flaws.  Three small mistakes, or one large (your vs. you're, then vs. than, etc.,) and I will no longer be willing to read.  Not that that's a terrible tragedy, or anything. I've never posted anything myself, either, because I know that judgmental people like me are out there reading it, and that makes me quite uncomfortable.  I don't often write stories that aren't farcical.  I'm far too much of a perfectionist for it, and it would drive me absolutely mad trying to get the characterization flawless.  Which I can't do.  I don't really write.  Except for this.  Because it's not a reflection upon anyone else's work, which I feel fan fiction is, to a degree.

Anyway, I hate hate hate that the new season of Sherlock won't be on until 2013.  Having only six episodes, long though they may be, is not acceptable.  Benedict Cumberbatch is such a perfect Sherlock.  Like, I don't think that anyone else could even come close.  I don't want to even learn anything about him as a real person, because he's so flawlessly that character.  And he has a very lovely voice, too, but that's another matter entirely.

TO SUMMARIZE:  You should watch Sherlock.  If enough people are interested, we could have a marathon at my house and I would have at least one bit of human interaction this summer.  I can feel myself getting more socially awkward by the hour.  And there would be guacamole, which I think is a pretty awesome incentive.  And thinking I would ever stop reading fic would be more OOC than a Mary Sue troll fic.
