Hi guys. I'm the guy who's going to be flying you guys today.

WARNING:  This post contains a picture with my face in it.  If you have easily offended sensibilities, you may wish to return to a website that features attractive people.

I may have a problem with my love for Cabin Pressure.  It's gotten out of control.  But if you haven't heard it yet, do it do it do it!  Benedict Cumberbatch is in it.

So, as a birthday present to myself, I've decided to get my cartilage pierced later today.  Because I'm tired of wanting to do things and thinking about it forever and never doing anything.  I currently have momentum and I'm going to use it!  Of course, I still have time to back out right now.  But I don't want to.

  1. Make sure they use a needle and not a gun because the gun permanently removes cartilage and your ear will never be the same again. Be ready to deal with the infection and swelling. Make sure that your health plan will cover the emergency room and antibiotics from a voluntary procedure if it goes wrong. Permanent hearing damage is rare but does occur. Healing time is generally 6 to 8 weeks so make sure that you do not have any definite commitments for this time period. Consult a site such as

    1. Hello. I'm going to assume you're the same person who berated me for saying I was thinking about a tattoo. While I appreciate that you probably have good intentions, and that anything posted on the internet becomes a part of the public forum, I would appreciate it if you didn't post comments like these in the future. If you have a complaint about a course of action I am planning to take, you can address me directly via facebook or email. Thank you.

  2. ...Yeesh. She's voluntarily deciding to get her cartilage pierced not voluntarily deciding to have a random guy on the street remove her appendix. There are worst case scenarios for everything and these are important to be aware of, but overly exaggerating them in attempts to make people feel like they are stupid and to stifle fairly harmless self-expression is uppity and uncalled for.
